Philadelphia, Pa. - Youngstown State senior Ryan Sullivan set the school record in the 5000m run on Thursday night at the 125th running of the Penn Relays.
Running out of Heat 1, Sullivan finished with the 16th fastest time overall at 14:21.06. Sullivan broke Eric Rupe's program record time of 14:22.27 which was set back on March 28, 2014. by 1.21 seconds.
The Penguins are back in action tomorrow at 9 a.m. from the Penn Relays when Collin Harden runs in the 400m hurdles championships at Franklin Field. The throwers and select runners will also compete tomorrow from the Jessie Owens Invitational.
