INDIANAPOLIS Youngstown State senior Cameron Morse earned Horizon League mens basketball Player of the Week honors, while Wright States Loudon Love the leagues leading rebounder garnered his sixth Freshman of the Week award of the season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEKCameron Morse | Youngstown State | Sr. | Guard | Flint, Mich.Morse averaged 27 points and four assists while shooting 50 percent from the field (16-for-32), 47.6 percent from 3-point range (10-for-21), and went 12-for-12 from the free throw line as Youngstown State split a pair of road games. Thursday versus third-place UIC, Morse scored a game-high 26 points and tied a career high with six 3-pointers. The Flint, Mich., native also dealt five assists in the setback. Two nights later, Morse again recorded a game-high scoring mark, tallying 28 points on 8-of-17 shooting (4-10 3FG) while converting all eight of his attempts from the charity stripe as the Penguins defeated IUPUI. Over the weekend, Morse also became just the seventh player in YSU history to score at least 1,800 career points. He now ranks sixth all-time with 1,829 points.

En route to garnering his sixth Freshman of the Week award, Love averaged 14.5 points and 16 rebounds as the Raiders split a pair of games versus Green Bay and Milwaukee. In Thursdays win over Green Bay, the Geneva, Ill., native tallied nine points and 13 rebounds in addition to recording three assists and two blocks. On Saturday, Love the Horizon Leagues leading rebounder (9.9 per game) notched his 11th double-double of the season with a dominant 20-point, 19-rebound effort versus Milwaukee. The 19-rebound mark was a career high. In 14 conference contests, Love has averaged a league-best 11.1 rebounds per game.
