Hill Named Horizon League Diver of the Week For Second Time |

Indianapolis, Ind. -- Youngstown State sophomore diver Casey Hill has been named the Horizon League Diver of the Week following two wins at Marshall over the weekend. It is the second time this season that Hill has been named the Diver of the Week. Hill, a sophomore from Bethlehem, Pa., scored 278.85 in the one-meter dive, taking first and also won the three-meter dive with a score of 279.15. Milwaukee's Sarah Wardecke was named the Horizon League Swimmer of the Week. The Penguins return to action on Friday when they play host to Bowling Green at 4 p.m. |
Penguins Win Seven Events In Strong Showing at Marshall |

Huntington, W. Va. -- The Youngstown State swimming and diving team won six individual events and a relay in a strong showing against Marshall on Saturday at the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium. YSU dropped the meet by a score of 171-129. The Penguins opened the meet by winning the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.84. The group of Nishani Cicilson, Angela Diorio, Laura Paz and Alana Kane outraced Marshall's top three squads to start the meet on a good note. In the individual events, YSU won the 50-yard freestyle, 100 free, 200 breaststroke, 500 free, the one-meter dive and three-meter dive. Casey Hill took the top spot in both the one and three-meter diving events. In the one-meter Hill won with a score of 278.85 while teammate Tricia Vallinger was second with a score of 236.55. In the three-meter Hill ran away from the competition with a 279.15 while Vallinger was third. Cicilson won the 50 free with a time of 24.97 seconds and the 100 free with a time of 54.27 seconds. Sam Roberts won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:26.76. Roberts also placed second in the 100 breast with a time of 1:10.00, also finishing just a half second out of the top spot. Brittany Vigar won the 500 free with a time of 5:22.66 placing first by .01 seconds. Kirstin Walker was second in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.53 finishing just a second out of the top spot. Diorio was second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:03.88, just a half second out of first. Caitlin Cook was second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:11.09 and Alana Kane was second in the 100 with a time of 56.00 seconds. Megan Ciampa was third in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 18:06.45 The Penguins return to action on Nov. 11 when they play host to Bowling Green at the Beeghly Natatorium. |
