Brooks Named Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach |

Youngstown, Ohio – Krystal Brooks has been named assistant women’s basketball coach at Youngstown State University, Head Coach Tisha Hill announced on Thursday. Brooks replaces Stacy Krueger, who is pursuing a law degree at the University of Toledo. Brooks, a four-year women’s basketball letterwinner at James Madison University, comes to Youngstown State from the Medical University of South Carolina where she served as a statistical and research Analyst. “We are extremely excited to have Krystal join our staff,” Hill said. “She has the energy and enthusiasm that will mesh very well with our team. Her excitement for this team from day one has proven to be very refreshing. “Having had a stellar career in the frontcourt for James Madison, I am thrilled she will be sharing her experience and knowledge with our youthful posts.” While at JMU, Brooks was named team captain her senior season in 2004-05 and averaged 6.0 points and 3.4 rebounds per game and totaled 57 blocks during her career. Brooks also served as a summer camp coach at basketball camps at James Madison and The Citadel. A native of Brownsville, Pa., Brooks graduated from James Madison in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and kinesiology with a minor in human resource development. |
