Penguins Ink Nikita LaFleur During Late Signing Period |

Youngstown, Ohio -- Youngstown State women's basketball Head Coach Tisha Hill today (May 12) announced the signing of Nikita LaFleur (Scarborough, Ont.) to a National-Letter-of-Intent to continue her education and basketball career at YSU. “I am extremely excited to add someone of Nikita’s caliber to our existing class of incoming freshman," Hill said. "Nikita will bring an added athleticism in the post offensively and possesses great shot blocking capabilities.” A 6-foot-3 post, LaFleur averaged 17 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks per game during her senior campaign at Mother Teresa High School. During her senior AAU season, LaFleur averaged 13 points nine rebounds and four blocks per game. LaFleur was also named a Second-Team All-Canadian selection and competed in the Girls National All-Canada All-Star Game. She joins Monique Godfrey, Ashley Pendleton, Toni Roscoe, Megan Snorf and Velissa Vaughn in the 2005-06 YSU women's basketball recruiting class. |
