Merling Finishes Second at Cleveland State Invitational
Hinckley, Ohio - Firing the lowest final-round score on Tuesday moved Youngstown State golfer Aislynn Merling into a second-place finish at the Cleveland State Invitational which wrapped up on Tuesday afternoon.

Merling had a two-round total of 150 with rounds of 77 on Monday and her 73 on Tuesday. She was in a tie for eighth place following the first round.

As a team the Penguins placed third with a total of 624. YSU had a 311 on Monday and 313 on Tuesday. Bowling Green won the team title with a 608 while Saint Francis (Pa.) edged out the Guins for second with a 618. Detroit was fourth carding a 630.

Sophomore Emily Rohanna placed 10th with a two-round 156 (79-77), Alison Mitzel was 17th with a 159 (77-82), Angela Molaskey finished 20th with a 160 (78-82) and Sana Khan placed 29th with a 168 (87-81). Competing as individuals for the Penguins were Mia Barchetti who was 33rd with a 171 (81-90) and Haleigh Guerrero who placed 37th with a 173 (84-89).

YSU returns to fall action on Oct. 7-8 when it competes at the Robert Morris Classic.
