YSU Duo Performs Well at Pure Silk Women's Collegiate Team Championship
Powell, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's golf duo of Aislynn Merling and Angela Molaskey tied for 30th at the three-day Pure Silk Women's Collegiate Team Championship held at Wedgewood Golf & Country Club.

Merling and Molaskey had an 86 on Tuesday, a 74 on Wednesday while the two combined for a 165 on Thursday. Their score for the event was 325 which left them in a tie for 30th place. The tournament featured three different formats all in one event.

On Tuesday, Molaskey and Merling carded an 86 during the alternating-shot opening round. The Penguins tied for 33rd with three other teams following the first round.

On Wednesday, the pair had a best-ball score of 72 and remained in 33rd place. The players lowest score from each hole was recorded as the pairs score.

Merling fired an 81 and Molaskey carded an 84 on Thursday in the two-player total. Merling had two biridies on the back nine (No.s 10 and 13) to highlight her round.

Michigan State's Liz Nagel and Trisha Witherby won with a three-round total of 283. The Penguins' pair was just five shots out of finishing in the top 25 at the event that featured 42 teams.

Schools from the SEC, Big Ten, Mid-American Conference, American Athletic and Missouri Valley all participated along with select Division II and III schools.
