Ryan Booth and Jayne Corbett Named Athletes of the Week
Indianapolis, Ind. – Youngstown State track and field athletes Ryan Booth and Jaynee Corbett were selected the Horizon League Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. Both were selected following their strong performance at the SPIRE Midwest Indoor Open.

Booth took first in the men's shot put with a toss of 16.43 meters at the SPIRE Midwest Open. He competed against 52 athletes for the win. Booth also took first at the YSU College Invitational with a throw of 17.08 meters in the shot put. At the YSU Icebreaker, Booth placed first in the shot put with a throw of 16.62 meters.

Corbett had a victory in both her events from the SPIRE Midwest Open in the women's weight throw and shot put. Her throw of 15.01 meters in the shot put broke the school record. In the weight throw, Corbett had a toss of 16.24 meters to take first out of 48 competitors.

This is Corbett's second time being tabbed as the Horizon League Field Athlete of the Week this season, as she was honored in early December after the YSU Icebreaker. Corbett took first in the shot put with a throw of 14.14 meters and first in the weight throw with a toss of 15.93 meters at the YSU Icebreaker.

The Penguins are next in action as they host the YSU National Invitational at the WATTS Feb. 5-6.
