Guins Pull Out 4-3 Win over Bradley After Pulling Out Doubles Point
Peoria, Ill. - The Youngstown State men's team concluded a two-match road trip with a hard-fought 4-3 win over Bradley on Saturday at the Clubs at River City North. The match was tied at three following singles play, but YSU won two doubles matches to clinch the last point.

In singles play, YSU won at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5. The Guins (1-1) suffered two three-set setbacks in singles play.

The Penguins dropped the first point as Bradley's Nico Rakitin defeated Dawould Kabli 6-2, 6-2. Max Schmerin tied the match up for YSU with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Daniel Tiboldi.

YSU went in front 2-1 as Zeeshan Ismail won for the second straight day with a 6-2, 6-5 (7-3) win over the Braves' Ashton Kalhorn. However, BU tied the contest up with a three-set win by Hamis Weerasinghe over YSU's Sebastian Hagn, 1-6, 6-1, 6-2.

Newcomer Shavrill Nawghare drooped a tight match at No. 6 singles. Nawghare lost 3-6, 6-2, 6-5 (8-6) to Bradley's Justin Abrams.

At No. 1, Silviu Mistreanu rallied to win for the second straight match after dropping the first set. Mistreanu lost the first set 6-5 (7-3) to Arthur Romanet before winning 6-4, 6-3.

In doubles play, Hagn and Kabli earned the first win at 6-1 over Kalhorn and Weerasinghe. The Penguins clinched the point and won the match when Mistreanu and Schmerin beat Tiboldi and Rakitin 6-3.

YSU returns to action next Saturday when it travels to Toledo.
