Hagn, Mistreanu Earn Horizon League Honors
Indianapolis, Ind. - Youngstown State sophomore Silviu Mistreanu and junior Sebastian Hagn were named All-Horizon League while Hagn was tabbed the Newcomer of the Year at the Tennis Awards banquet on Friday evening in Indianapolis.

Mistreanu is the first Penguin in school history to be a two-time first-team All-Horizon League selection. This year he was 5-1 in Horizon League play at the No. 1 spot. His lone loss was to League Player of the Year, Michael Tenzer of Green Bay. Overall at No. 1 singles this spring, Mistreanu was 11-6.

Hagn, a transfer from USF, played primarily at the No. 2 spot in the Penguins' dual lineup this spring. In Horizon League play he was 3-3 while posting a 10-10 dual mark. Also for his efforts, he was named second-team all-league. He is the first YSU men's tennis player to be named since Seth Banks in 2002.

The Penguins dropped their opening match against Detroit this morning at the Horizon League Championships.
