Soccer Ties With Oakland
Youngstown, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's soccer played to a 0-0 tie with Oakland on Saturday afternoon from Farmers National Bank Field in the Covelli Sports Complex. Sophomore goalkeeper Kate McEachern recorded 5 saves for the game.

The Penguins move to 1-10-3 and 0-4-1 in the Horizon League, while the Golden Grizzlies go to 1-9-3 and 1-1-3 in the league.

Oakland had a chance to win the game late in regular time when Sydnye Gagner hit the post on a shot in the 85th minute. YSU had their chance in the first overtime period when Isabella Futchi headed a Lauren Snow cross into the arms of the Oakland goalkeeper in the 95th minute. 

The Golden Grizzlies out shot YSU 17-3 and had more corner kick opportunities,

Laurel Prokopchak, Futchi, Snow each registered a shot for the Penguins in the game.

The Penguins travel to UIC on Oct. 13 to face the Flames at 8 p.m. from Flames Field.
