Bowling Wins Twice on Sunday to Finish 10th at Track KAT Klash
The Youngstown State bowling team used a pair of wins on the final day to move up to a 10th-place finish at the Track KAT Klash on Sunday at Emerald Lanes in Houston, Texas.

The Penguins began the day 12th after 11 rounds of qualifying matches and started bracket play against No. 18 Tulane, which was seeded 11th. YSU beat the Green Wave 4-1 in the best-of-seven Baker game format, and Youngstown State followed with a 4-0 sweep of No. 24 Jackson State. Youngstown State's lone loss was 4-1 to No. 12 Delaware State in the match to determine ninth and 10th place.

No team improved its standing more than YSU on the final day of the tournament, and the Penguins earned nice bounce-back wins after losing Saturday to both Tulane and Jackson State.

Sam Houston State, the event's host and the No. 6 team in the country, beat No. 1 Nebraska twice on Sunday to earn the championship. YSU finished ahead of two ranked teams, Tulane and Jackson State, in a challenging field that featured five of the top six teams in the country and a total of 10 teams in the NTCA Top 25.

The Penguins' next tournament won't be until Jan. 20 at the KU Invitational. YSU will have five tournaments in the spring leading up to the NCAA Championship on April 13-15.

Sunday's Results
