Penguins Return to Action at Northeast Ohio Invitational
Akron, Ohio - Members of the Youngstown State men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Northeast Ohio Invitational on Saturday. Teams participating in the meet at Lee Jackson Field included Kent State, Akron, Ashland, Bowling Green and YSU.

Highlighting the performances for the second consecutive weekend were the women's sprinters.

YSU's women won the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 45.85 seconds behind strong efforts by Ciara Jarrett, Laura Kosiorek, Alexis Washington and Nina Grambling was first.

Grambling won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.78 seconds while Jarrett was second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.12 seconds.

Kendall Homan was third in the triple jump with a leap of 11.44 meters. Alison Roth was fourth in the discus with a throw of 46.65 meters.

For the men, Michael Davis placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.44 seconds and placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.63 seconds. Clay Febus was fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 14.77 seconds.

Jay Jakovina was third in the high jump clearing the bar at 1.98 meters while John Seaver placed second in the shot put with a heave of 16.46 meters.

YSU returns to action at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., starting on Thursday.
