Jarrett, Grambling Place in Top Four at Raleigh Relays

Raleigh, N.C. - Youngstown State sprinters Ciara Jarrett and Nina Grambling placed third and fourth in the finals of the 100-meter dash on the final day of the Raleigh Relays at the Paul Derr Track.

In the 100-meter dash, Jarrett was third with a time of 11.96 seconds while Grambling was right behind at 11.97 seconds.

The men's 4x100-meter relay team was ninth with a time of 41.69 seconds. Running for the Guins were Davon Reed, Tarelle Irwin, Marquis Williamson and Michael Davis. In the 200, Irwin and Davis tied for 11th at 22.18 seconds

George Thomas was 16th in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.63 meters.

For the women, Hanna Ropp was fifth in her section of the pole vault clearing a height of 3.35 meters. Megan Wesner was 16th in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.28 meters. Nicole Pachol had a time of 1:02.38 to finish 17th in the 400-meter hurdles.

The weather for the final day of competition was practically flawless, consisting of partly-cloudy skies, lots of sunshine and temperatures in the mid-to-high 60's for the duration of the day.

The event was one of the most successful in its history, as approximately 3,000 athletes from a meet record 84 NCAA programs around the country competed in the two-day spectacle.
