Davis, Grambling Place in Top Eight at SPIRE Invitational
Geneva, Ohio - Senior sprinter Michael Davis had two top-eight finishes and freshman Nina Grambling had a top-five finish at the SPIRE Division I Indoor Track and Field Invitational held on Friday and Saturday.

Davis finished fourth in the 60-meter dash with a season-best time of 6.90 seconds. He was .10 behind East Carolina's Torrance Hunt who was just .02 seconds in front of Buffalo's Miles Lewis. In the 200-meter dash, Davis was eighth with a season-best time of 21.85 seconds.

Nina Grambling placed fifth in the 200-meter dash with a career-best time of 25.03 seconds.

Senior Nicole Pachol placed 10th in the 400-meter dash with a career-best time of 56.94 seconds.

In the 60-meter dash, Tarelle Irwin posted a time of 7.07 seconds in the 60m dash.

Also for the men, Jay Jakovina was 17th in the high jump with a career-best leap of 2.03 meters and John Seaver was 17th in the shot put with a distance of 16.67 meters.

Monica Ciarnello posted a personal-best time of 17:51.53 in the 5,000 meters while Anna Pompeo had a career-best time of 10:03.60 in the 3,000 meters. Alexis Cooper had a career-best performance of 2:17.99 in the 800m and Brittany Stockmaster had a person-best time of 10:44.34.

Also for the women, Katrina Rettburg was 11th in the high jump clearing a height of 1.65m and Jennifer Neider was 13th in the shot put with a toss of 13.81 meters.

The Penguins return to action on Feb. 15 when they compete at the Akron Invitational.
