Guins Finish 11th at Hoosier Invitational

YSU was consistent all weekend carding rounds of 297 and 299 on Saturday and finishin with a 297 on Sunday. For the event, the Guins had a total of 893 tying Detroit for 11th place. Indiana won its own tournament with an 850 placing five shots in front of Illinois State.
Freshman Brandon Pluchinsky led the Penguins placing 26th with a 221. Pluchinsky was 16th after the first round with a 72 before firing a second-round score of 77. On Sunday, he shot another 72 to move up nine spots on the leaderboard.
Bll Gaffney was YSU's second-lowest finisher coming in 38th place. Gaffney had rounds of 75 and 72 on Saturday, including a 20-place improvement from round one to round two. On Sunday, Gaffney had a 77 to finish with a 224 for the event.
D.J. Holub had a pair of 75 rounds on Saturday and finished with a 77 on Sunday. Holub placed 47th in the tournament firing a three-round total of 227. Mark Olbrych tied for 53rd with a 228. Olbrych had a pair of 75's on Saturday before finishing with a 78 on Sunday.
Bryan Yeo carded the Penguins' lowest round of the tournament with a 71 on Sunday. He had rounds of 81 and 78 on Saturday and had a total of 230 for the event.
YSU is next in action at the Detroit Titans Invitational on April 12-13 in Highland, Mich.
