Pollock, who will be eligible immediately, will join Coach Bo Pelini in his first year at the helm.
"I can't wait to get to Youngstown State and play for Coach Pelini," said Pollock. "I want to be a part of what Coach Pelini is doing. He's a proven coach who came from a Big Ten program and I can't wait to play for him."
The former Dr. Phillips (FL) standout was a key part in the 2016 recruiting class. However, after a coaching change this past winter, Pollock didn't fit in with the new staff and their schemes.
"My focus is not on the past but what the future holds," said Pollock. "Unfortunately after the coaching change it just didn't work out for me and I had to make a decision that was best for my career. I wish the staff and my former teammates nothing but the best."
The talented linebacker chose the Penguins over San Diego State, Georgia Southern, Colgate, Southern Illinois, Montana and Northern Iowa. He said his connections in Ohio helped lead him to YSU.
"Family is huge to me and it just so happens that I have some family in Ohio," he said. "Ohio is a great football state and having the opportunity to play for Pelini and having family in the area was a natural fit."
Pollock, who was a standout for Dr. Phillips finished his high school career with 229 tackles, 7 sacks, and 29 tackles for loss.
