PK Zak Kennedy Finishes 13th in Balloting for STATS Freshman of the Year
Youngstown State freshman placekicker Zak Kennedy finished 13th in the balloting for the 2015 STATS FCS Freshman of the Year honor. Kennedy received 53 votes to finish 13th among the group of 20 finalists.

Kennedy, a first-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference seletion, set a school record by making 19 field goals, eclipsing the mark of 17 in 2015. He made a field goal in all but one contest and led the team with 91 points. He ranked third in the FCS making 1.73 field goals per game. In the regular season, he was one of three FCS kickers to make at least 19 field goals.

In MVFC contests he made 14-of-16 attempts, converting at an 87.5 percent clip. He made a season-long field goal of 49 yards against Illinois State.

Kennedy received two first-place votes, a second-place vote, three third-place votes, nine fourth-place votes and 12 fifth-place votes in the balloting. He was one of three Missouri Valley Football Conference players to finish in the top 13.
