Steve Zaborsky Named Second-Team CoSIDA Academic All-American
Youngstown State senior defensive tackle Steve Zaborsky was named second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American on Thursday, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced. Zaborsky is the first Penguins football student-athlete since 2010 to be named Academic All-America.

Zaborsky is the seventh YSU football player to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American and the first since placekicker Stephen Blose in 2010.

A first-team Academic All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honoree in 2015, he started all 11 games at defensive tackle during his senior campaign. He posted a career-high 34 total tackles, including 15 solo stops. In conference play he was credited with 23 tackles.

Zaborsky has already earned his degree from YSU in engineering and posted a 3.71 GPA in his academic career. He is currently pursuing his MBA at YSU.

Impressively, nine of the 49 members named first or second-team Academic All-America are members of the Missouri Valley Football Conference, including North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz who was named the CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year for Division I football.
