YSU Men's Cross Country adds Tristan Dahmen
The Youngstown State men's cross country and track and field program welcomes Tristan Dahmen, as he is the first to sign an early National Letter of Intent to join the Penguins for the 2016-17 season, Head Coach Brian Gorby announced.

Dahmen, of Maplewood, Ohio, is a two-time Ohio Cross Country High School State Champion and ran the second fastest Division-III course time of 15:18.80 in the Ohio Cross Country State Championships this season.

A standout for the Maplewood men's cross country team, Dahmen was the 2015 Ohio Track and Field 3,200-meter State Champion last spring with a time of 9:16.99.

Dahmen also lead the Maplewood cross country teams to back-to-back victories at the Ohio Cross Country Championships for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

Coach Gorby said he is thrilled to have Dahmen join the YSU program.

"The entire YSU Cross Country/Track & Field Penguin Family are really looking forward to having Tristan and his wonderful family, working together with our wonderful family in the future, to help achieve goals and dreams here at Youngstown State University," Gorby said.
