The women's 6k race is set to begin at Noon.
The Penguins have won the last two years in this event. Returning runners are juniors McKinsie Klim, Melissa Klim, and Libby Rogenski who return from the back-to-back title winning team. Newcomers to this event include sophomore Erin Pavick and freshmen Jennifer Muhlenkamp, Morgan Ansell, Suzanne Koziol and Shelby Pontera.
McKinsie Klim, who took 13th at the event last year, has had a strong performance this season. Klim is coming off a first-place finish from the Penn State National Invitational and has had other top time finishes this year. She took 20th at the Duquesne Duals, fourth at the Tommy Evans Invitational, 17th at the All-Ohio Championships which had nearly 600 runners and was 13th at the Disney World Cross Country Classic.
Melissa Klim will be a key runner as she recently took ninth at the Penn State National Invitation. Klim competed in all five meets as she took 10th at the Duquense Duals, fourth at the Tommy Evans Invitational, and 21st at the Disney World Cross Country Classic.
Rogenski has also been a top runner this season, as she recently placed 12th at the Penn State National Invitational. Muhlenkamp has had a solid freshman year, as she recently finished 14th at the Penn State national Invitational, and has been in the top four YSU finishers in all five meets this season.
The Penguins young team has had a strong performance this year. YSU will be contending for the title against other Horizon League teams like Oakland, UIC and Milwaukee.
