Penguins Earn Strong 5-2 Victory at IPFW

The Penguins (2-1) won the doubles point and were winners in four of the five played singles matches against the Mastodons (3-2).
Youngstown State jumped out quickly, winning No. 1 doubles 6-2 behind Dominika Lackova and Marta Burak, before winning 6-3 at No. 3 pair of Julianna Heino and Victoria Ferry. With the doubles point in hand, the No. 2 doubles team was pulled off the court before their match could finish.
The Penguins took the first four points of the singles portion of the match. Lackova won 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2 singles over IPFW's Alina Schibol. The next winner for the Guins was Nehel Sahni at No. 4 as she won 6-2, 7-6 over Marcy Huck. Annina Brendel followed with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Carlota Trevino at No. 3 singles.
At No. 1, Burak picked up a hard-fought 7-5, 6-2, 10-5 victory over IPFW's Mayu Sato.
The Penguins will play later today at Ball State. The dual match is set to start at 5 p.m. in Muncie, Ind.
