Penguins Conclude Lady Buckeye Invitational With Solid Final Round

The Penguins had by far their best round of the tournament on Sunday carding a 329. YSU had rounds of 344 and 350 on Saturday finishing with a team total of 1,023 for 54 holes.
The Penguins placed 12th in a very strong field that featured nin Big Ten schools. Michigan State rallied past Purdue on Sunday to win the team title.
On Sunday, Allison Mitzel turned in an impressive round of 77. Highlighting her round on Sunday was a birdie on No. 16. Mitzel was the best finisher of the Penguins finishing 63rd with a three-round score of 253. Mitzel had a pair of 88's on Saturday. She had two birdies during the event.
Sarah Heimlich had the Penguins' best score of the first round with an 84. Heimlich finished 67th with a 259. In the second round on Saturday, Aislynn Merling and Emily Rohanna each finished with an 86. Merling had an 83 on Sunday to finish with a 255 for the event and finish 65th. Angela Molaskey had an opening round 86.
The Penguins return to action at the Horizon League Championships in Florida which start on Friday at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla.
