The Penguins finished the conference schedule with a mark of 11-5, finishing one game ahead of third-place Loyola (10-6) and two games up on fourth-place Detroit (9-7). Green Bay finished 16-0 and enters the tournament as the top seed.
Wright State earned fifth place with a 6-10 record, and Milwaukee, Cleveland State, Valparaiso and UIC all finished at 5-11. Milwaukee earned the sixth seed by going 4-2 against the other teams in the four-way tie, and Cleveland State finished as the No. 7 seed by being 3-1 against Valpo and UIC. Valparaiso won the tiebreaker with UIC because of its win over Youngstown State on Jan. 12 and will host the Flames on Monday in the opening round of the tournament.
Youngstown State will be playing Cleveland State in the Horizon League Tournament for the second straight season. The Vikings eliminated YSU last season with a 59-56 win in Cleveland. YSU swept Cleveland State this season, winning 72-63 in Cleveland on Jan. 24 and 73-69 in Youngstown on Feb. 21.
Reserved tickets for the tournament game will be $10, and general admission tickets will be $7. Group general-admission tickets will be $4, and YSU students will be free with a current and valid university ID.
Penguin Club members and season-ticket holders have until the end of business on Tuesday to purchase their tickets before they are released to the general public.
