Pete the Penguin Set to Hit the Road on Back of Falcon Trailers

Don Constantini, Chairman and CEO of Falcon Transport Co., has placed a decal of Pete above the Youngstown State University on the back of 200 trailers in his fleet.
The trailers will log more than 15 million miles a year across six states; Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and New York. The various states are the primary footprint of YSU’s athletic affiliation with the Horizon League, which is based in Indianapolis, Ind., as well as the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
“This will add to the visibility of YSU for branding and recruiting purposes throughout the Midwest”, Constantini said.
“The impact of having that (Pete logo) out there for the University and our community will be immense," YSU Athletic Director Ron Strollo said. “We’re very appreciative of Don’s support of the University and in particular the Athletic Department."
It’s the second generation of Pete decals being prominent on the back of Falcon Transport trailers.
“This idea goes all the way back to when (former YSU football head coach) Jim Tressel was here” Constantini added. While the company was expanding its fleet in the 1990s, the Penguins had tremendous success on the football field. It was a great way to show the pride in the area by putting Pete on the back of the trucks. Now with the recent all-around success of all Penguins teams, Pete will be out on the road promoting the unversity.
Falcon Transport has also been involved in other Athletic projects. YSU football head coach Eric Wolford and the senior players posed on one of its flat bed for this past season’s team poster. The organization is a scholarship loge holder, provides an endowed scholarship for a YSU student-athlete and has always been a key provider for the university.
The headquarters of Falcon Transport Co., and Comprehensive Logistics are located at 4944 Belmont Ave., in Youngstown.
