Basketball Visits Wright State for Sunday Matinee

Game Preview
• The Youngstown State men's basketball team returns to the road to visit in-state and Horizon League foe Wright State, Sunday, Feb. 15, at the Nutter Center.
• Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. ET and can be heard on 570 AM WKBN and viewed on ESPN3.com. 

About Wright State
• Wright State enters the game with an overall record of 11-14 and 3-8 mark in the Horizon League.
• The Raiders have lost four straight and seven of the last eight games.
• JT Yoho leads the Raiders with 16.1 points per game, but has missed the last seven games.
• Joe Thomasson is averaging 10.3 points per game for the Raiders, who averaging 62.5 points per game against league opponents.

The Wright State Series
• This is the 51st meeting between Youngstown State and Wright State in a series that dates back to 1977.
• The Raiders own a 40-10 advantage in the all-time series and have won the last two contests.
• In the last meeting, the Raiders were victorious, 70-61, on Jan. 8, 2015, at the Beeghly Center. 

Last Time Out
• The Penguins are coming off a 63-62 loss to Green Bay on Feb. 11.
• Sophomore Marcus Keene scored 21 points and made five 3-pointers to lead the Penguins.
• Senior Shawn Amiker scored 11 points and senior DJ Cole and junior Bobby Hain each added 10 points.

Up Next
• The Penguins return home to host Detroit, Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m.
• That contest can be heard on 570 AM WKBN and viewed ESPN3.com.

Hain's 1,000-Point Countdown
• With 965 career points, junior Bobby Hain needs just 35 more to become the 36th YSU player to score 1,000 points in a career.
• Hain would become the seventh player to accomplish the feat under Head Coach Jerry Slocum.
• The last YSU junior to reach 1,000 points was Kendrick Perry in the 2012-13 season.

Keene Fourth Nationally
• Sophomore Marcus Keene now ranks fourth nationally with 82 3-pointers made.
• He is also 15th in the country with a 3-point field-goal percentage of .439.

Penguins Among Scoring Leaders
• Youngstown State has three of the top 18 scorers in the Horizon League.
• Sophomore Marcus Keene ranks sixth in the Horizon League with 15.9 points per game.
• Junior Bobby Hain is seventh with 15.0 points per game and senior Shawn Amiker is 18th with 10.7 points per game. 

45 and Above
• Youngstown State has a great chance of winning when it makes 45 percent of its field-goal attempts.
• The Penguins are 9-3 when they shooting at least 45 percent from the field.

Keene Nearing Single-Season 3-PT Mark
• Sophomore Marcus Keene has moved into fourth place on the YSU single-season 3-pointers made chart.
• Keene has made 82 3-pointers this season and needs just 12 more to tie and 13 to break the YSU single-season record of 94 set by Blake Allen in 2012-13.
• He is just the third player in school history to make at least 80 3-pointers in one season.

Uniquely Hain
• Junior Bobby Hain is in a class by himself.
• Hain is the only player in the Horizon League averaging at least 15 points (15.0 ppg), 7.4 rebounds (7.4 rpg) and shooting at least 50 percent from the field (.524).
• He is third in the league in field-goal percentage, third in rebounding and is seventh in scoring.

Cole Nearing 400 Assists
• Senior DJ Cole has 399 career assists and needs one more to become the fifth player in school history to reach 400 assists.
• He currently ranks fifth on the all-time list and needs 58 more to move into fourth place.
• With two assists against Wright State on Jan. 8, Cole posted 100 assists this season.
• It marked the third straight year Cole has been credited with at least 100 assists.
• The last player to post 100 assists in three straight seasons was Kendrick Perry, who accomplished the feat four times from 2010-14.

Vaughn Hitting Stride
• Sophomore Osandai Vaughn has been hitting his stride offensively lately.
• He scored 12 points against Cleveland State on Feb. 4, recorded 16 points against Oakland on Feb. 1, scored 12 points against Detroit on Jan. 29, 10 points against UIC on Jan. 24, and 17 points against Valparaiso on Jan. 20 with a career-high three 3-pointers.
• Vaughn scored 11 points against Cleveland State on Jan. 17, 14 points in the loss at Milwaukee on Jan. 14, scored 10 points against Green Bay on Jan. 11 and Valparaiso on Jan. 4.
• He had a career scoring high with 18 points against UIC on Jan. 2.
• Over the last 13 games, Vaughn has scored 149 points.
• In his previous 11 games played, Vaughn scored a total of 15 points.
• Vaughn is averaging 12.5 points per game over the last 13 games.
• He has also made 16 of his last 32 3-pointers.
