Good Crowd Expected as Basketball Hosts Robert Morris Tonight With A Dollar Night Double-Header

The Youngstown State men's basketball team looks to get back on the winning track when it takes on Robert Morris of the Northeast Conference, Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Tipoff Notes
• Tipoff is set for 7:45 p.m. EST at the Beeghly Center in Youngstown, Ohio.
• The game is the second half of a women's and men's basketball doubleheader.
• The game can be heard on 570 WKBN-AM and iHeartRadio.
• The game is also on the Horizon League Network. 

Rulli Bros. "Dollar G.A." Night
• For Wednesday's doubleheader, fans can purchase General Admission tickets for just $1, compliments of Rulli Bros. 

Last Time Out
• The Penguins dropped a tough, high-scoring affair to Austin Peay, 88-86, on Nov. 30.
• Senior Kendrick Perry scored a season-high 32 points with four rebounds, four assists and six steals against the Governors.
• Senior Kamren Belin scored 14 points while freshman Marcus Keene nearly missed a double-double with 12 points and a career-high nine assists.
• Bobby Hain added 11 points and seven rebounds for the Penguins.

The Robert Morris Series
• This is the 14th meeting between Youngstown State and Robert Morris in a series that dates back to 1989.
• The Colonials own a 9-4 advantage in the all-time series.
• After winning four of the first six contests, the Penguins have dropped the last seven games to Robert Morris, including a 59-56 decision at the Beeghly Center on Dec. 22, 2011.
• The last time the Penguins defeated Robert Morris was a 69-56 victory on Jan. 2, 2001, in Moon Township, Pa.
• The last YSU victory over the Colonials at the Beeghly Center was a 61-59 win on Jan. 16, 1995.

• Robert Morris enters the game with a 3-5 overall record and has lost its last three contests.
• The Colonials are led by Karvel Anderson with 18.1 points per game.
• Lucky Jones is also in double figures at 12.3 points per game and boasts a team-best 5.1 rebounds per game.
• Robert Morris is averaging 73 points per game as a team, but 68.3 points per game on the road.
• The Colonials, who are just 1-5 on the road this season, are allowing 81.8 points per game and shooting just 38.6 percent from the floor in away contests.
• Anderson leads the Colonials with 16.7 points per game in road contests.

• Senior Kendrick Perry scored a season-high 32 points against Austin Peay on Nov. 30.
• He became the first player in the Horizon League to score at least 30 points on multiple occasions this season.
• The 32-point effort was just two points shy of his career high.
• It also marked the fifth time in his career Perry scored at least 30 points in a game.

Mighty Keene
• Freshman Marcus Keene made the most of his first career start against Austin Peay on Nov. 30.
• Keene nearly missed a double-double with 12 points and a career-high nine assists.

KP Leads Nation
• Senior Kendrick Perry is YSU's career steals leader with 199.
• He and VCU Briante Weber lead the nation with in total steals with 29.
• Perry also ranks sixth nationally with 3.22 steals per game.

KP In the League
• Senior Kendrick Perry is in the top four in four key Horizon League statistical categories
• He leads the league in steals (3.2 spg), assist-to-turnover ratio (3.7), assists (4.7 apg).
• He ranks fourth in scoring (18.7 ppg).

Slocum In Elite Company
• Youngstown State Head Coach Jerry Slocum ranks among the best in the history of college basketball in terms of overall wins.
• Slocum ranks 35th all-time with 679 career victories and surpassed Denny Crum, who had 675 career victories.
• He also ranks sixth among active Division I coaches in all-time wins.

Sweet Charity
• Youngstown State has been taking advantage of its time at the free-throw line.
• The Penguins rank third in the Horizon League with a .776 free-throw percentage.
• Five players are shooting .818-or-better from the line this season.
• That group includes freshman Marcus Keene (.933), senior Kamren Belin (.892) junior DJ Cole (.867), senior Kendrick Perry (.827) and sophomore Ryan Weber (.818)
• Junior Shawn Amiker is shooting .783 from the stripe and sophomore Bobby Hain is connecting on a .786 clip.

Cool Hands Cole
• Junior guard DJ Cole has been sure handed when handling the rock.
• Cole, who is averaging 3.9 assists per game, ranks second in the league with a 3.1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
• He also ranks fifth in the league in assists per game.
