Slocum, Tressel Headline NE Ohio Coaches to host Coaches vs. Cancer® Tip-off Reception

Youngstown State men's basketball Head Coach Jerry Slocum, along with Keith Dambrot (University of Akron), Rob Senderoff (Kent State University) and Gary Waters (Cleveland State University) are hosting the 2nd Annual Northeast Ohio Coaches vs. Cancer® Tip-off reception, Oct. 3, at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman, Ohio.

The event will begin at 6:00p.m. with a VIP meet and greet with the coaches and special guest former Youngstown State and Ohio State Head Football Coach Jim Tressel.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that empowers coaches, their teams, and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

Through the efforts of coaches across the country, Coaches vs. Cancer (coachesvscancer.org) has raised more than $87 million since 1993 to help the American Cancer Society save lives by helping people stay well, helping them get well, by finding cures and fighting back against cancer. The initiative combines the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of athletic coaches nationwide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness, fundraising, and advocacy programs.
