Three Penguin Basketball Players Named to NABC Honors Court

Rising seniors Kendrick Perry (Ocoee, Fla.) and Mike Podolsky (Canfield, Ohio) and former Penguin Blake Allen (Tampa, Fla.) represented Youngstown State on the list.
Perry, a two-time All-Horizon League First-Team selection and NABC All-District choice, owns a 3.36 grade-point average in criminal justice while Podolsky carries a 4.0 GPA in business finance. Allen, an accounting major, posted a 3.57 grade-point average.
Perry, the 2012-13 Youngstown State/Vindicator Male Athlete of the Year, led the Penguins with 17.3 points and 4.1 assists per game.
Allen averaged 12.4 points per game and became Youngstown State's all-time leader with 232 career 3-pointers. He also set the school's single-season record with 94 3-pointers made in 2012-13.
Podolsky appeared in 15 games for the Penguins in 2012-13 and scored eight points with 16 rebounds.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2012-13 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution.
