The Penguins, who had scored a maximum of 10 runs in a game through 21 contests, had 16 hits, drew seven walks and benefited from five Bobcats errors. All nine of YSU's starters scored at least once, and eight of the nine had at least one hit.
Schroth was 3-for-5 with four runs and four RBIs, and Heath was 2-for-6 with a homer and four RBIs. Nick DiNello continued to stay hot at the plate with a game-high four hits while Josh White had three.
YSU's Erik Okleson was awarded the win despite allowing three runs in two innings of relief. The Penguins had five pitchers take the mound while Ohio had six.
The Penguins found themselves down 6-2 after two innings as Ohio scored two runs in the first and four in the second. That's when YSU scored 11 runs on just five hits while sending 14 batters to the plate in the third inning. Heath started the scoring with a sacrifice fly that made the second out, and his two-run homer completed the scoring. DiNello, Schroth and Kris Moules had two RBIs in the inning, and Heath had three.
Ohio scored three times in the fourth to make the score 13-9, but the Penguins outscored them 7-2 over the fifth and sixth innings to take a 20-11 lead. Ohio scored three runs in the seventh and one more in the ninth for the final tally.
