One way for fans to support the Penguin Club Golf Outing is by sponsoring a tee-sign. This allows a YSU fan to show off their Penguin Pride and the sign can feature an individuals or a company's name. The cost of a tee-sign sponsorship is $150 and is a great way for not only local Penguins, but out-of-town members who could not attend otherwise, to show their support.
Scholarship, Presenting, Red packages and individual spots are available for participants. All participants receive driving range access, lunch, dinner, on-course refreshments, riding cart, fan pack and door prize entry ticket.
The Scholarship Package features the establishment of Athletic Scholarship Endowment and includes two foursomes, logo placement on all materials (program, brochures, course signage, website logo placement and link and press releases). The cost is $5,000.
The Presenting Package includes two foursomes, logo placement on all materials (program, brochures, course signage, website logo placement and link and press releases). The cost is $2,500.
The Red Package includes a foursome, custom gift and tee sponsorship sign. The cost is $1,250.
Also, individual golfers can participate in the event for $200.
A special "Wish You Were Here" Package can be purchased and allow a foursome to golf at the beautiful Youngstown Country Club. The date and time must work with YCC, however, the chance to play on one of the area's best courses is worth the package price of $1,000.
The tee time for the shotgun start is Noon while registration begins at 10 a.m. with lunch set for 11 a.m. Following the event a buffet dinner and award ceremony will be held in the banquet center. Dinners are also available for purchase.
Prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third-place foursomes while there is a longest drive contest for men and women, closest to the pin (five prizes), longest made putt and a Team Skins Game will be available.
Founded in 1898, The Youngstown Country Club is one of the oldest clubs in America. It features one of Northeast Ohio's finest golf venues.
The Youngstown Country Club course, built in 1911 by Walter J. Travis, then upgraded in 1921 by Donald Ross, is demanding but fair. Contoured fairways with subtle undulations, heavy but well-cropped roughs of blue grass, strategically placed bunkers, a meandering creek and growing tree lines that also come into play make every round a challenge for golfers at every level. The Par-71 course, features roughly 6,363 yards of challenges.
