All funds generated from the event go directly towards the Youngstown State Athletics scholarship program.

Judy and Reid Schmutz grew up the street across from each other and attended The Rayen School on Youngstown's North Side. They married in 1965 and have three children – Charles, Jr., Andy and Jill.

Reid Schmutz, a graduate of Brown University, worked 25 years at the Standard Slag Company, leaving in 1989 as vice president of operations. He then became president of the YSU Foundation, where he helped grow the foundation's assets to more than $180 million and helped implement the YSU University Scholars program. He retired earlier this year. He has served as president of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, the Youngstown Rotary Club and the YSU Penguin Club. He is a member of the 1985 inaugural class of Leadership Mahoning Valley.

Judy Schmutz currently serves on the board of the Mahoning County Libraries and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Youngstown. She previously served on the board of the Boardman Methodist Preschool and the Boardman PTA. In 1997, after 22 years of service, she received lifetime membership in the Ohio PTA.

The Schmutzes are supporters of the YSU Mad about The Arts, WATTS, the Schmutz Family Lobby in Stambaugh Stadium, and the Schmutz Family Classroom in Williamson Hall. Endowments established are the Schmutz Family Scholarship Fund and the Schmutz Athletic Facilities Support Fund.

The Mincey's have been long-time supporters of all YSU athletic teams while playing a key role on campus. Dr. Daryl Mincey has served as Youngstown State University's chair of the Chemistry Department since 1995. An active member of the Penguin Club Board of Trustees, he became an assistant professor at YSU in 1980. In 2008, Dr. Mincey attended his 200th consecutive Youngstown State football game when the Penguins played at Western Illinois. He has taken numerous action photos in his tenure and handled many behind-the-scenes duties for the football program through the years.

Doors for the event opens at 6 p.m., the buffet will start at 6:15 p.m. and the program is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. Student-athletes from all YSU teams will be signing footballs and basketballs for those groups who have purchased them in advance.
