Hundelt, a native of St. Louis, Mo., averaged a league-best 4.43 kills per set while hitting .324 as the Penguins beat Robert Morris and Cleveland State last week. Hundelt had 21 kills, 15 digs and four blocks against the Colonials, and she had 10 kills, 14 digs and two blocks versus the Vikings. Her efforts helped Youngstown State beat Cleveland State for the first time since 2001.
Hundelt has been among the league's best all-around players through the first month of the season. She leads the conference in aces, and she is the only player in the conference to rank among the top 10 in kills, digs and blocks. In fact, she's one of just two players to rank in the top 10 in two of those categories.
Hundelt has now been named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week three times in her career. She earned the award twice last season as a junior.
The Penguins will host Kent State on Tuesday night in their final non-conference match of the season. They'll then head on the road for conference matches at Oakland and Wright State over the weekend.
