Austin McLean, Michelle Klim Selected Horizon League Athletes of the Week

Indianapolis, Ind. – Austin McLean and Michelle Klim of the Youngstown State track and field team were selected the Horizon League Athletes of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. McLean and Klim were tabbed for their running events following their strong weekend performance.

McLean placed first in the men's mile run at the Armory Elite Invitational in New York with a time of 4:10.58. He competed against 19 other competitors from top schools such as American, Wisconsin, Maryland and Duke. McLean leads the league in the mile run and the 3,000-meter run.

Kilm finished fourth in the women's 5,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 17:51.91. She improved her time by dropping 30 seconds. Klim beat out 34 competitors in the 5,000-meter run and now leads the league in the event.
The Penguins are next in action at the SPIRE NCAA DI Invitational Feb. 12-13.
