Rupe, Zallow Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Honorees

Youngstown State senior distance runner Eric Rupe and freshman sprinter Carl Zallow were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's All-Academic Team, the USTFCCCA announced.

Rupe concluded his YSU career by advancing to the NCAA East Regionals in the steeplechase, while Zallow, just a freshman, ran in the 100-meter dash at the event. Rupe was a three-time outdoor Horizon League All-Academic selection, a two-time indoor HL honoree and also was an academic all-conference recipient in cross country.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and for the outdoor season, must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
