Penguins Fall to Butler in Dual Opener

Indianapolis, Ind. - The Youngstown State men's tennis team lost 5-2 to Butler on Friday afternoon at the Butler Bubble. Silviu Mistreanu and Zeeshan Ismail picked up individual wins for the Penguins.

It was the first dual match of the year for YSU (0-1). Butler improves to to 1-1 with win.

At No. 1, Mistreanu won his team-high 11th match of the season by coming from behind to beat Pulok Bhattacharya 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.

At No. 5, Ismail picked up a straight set win over Tommy Marx, 6-4, 6-5. Ismail is now 8-3 on the campaign.

At No. 2, Sebastian Hagn dropped a 6-2, 6-5 decision to Sam O'Neill. At No. 3, Dawoud Kabli lost a 6-0, 6-3 contest to Austin Woldmoe. Max Schmerin lost 6-3, 6-4 to Brandon Woods at No. 4 while Rodrigo Campos suffered a 6-5, 6-2 loss to Alex Woldmoe.

The Bulldogs won the first two completed singles matches to earn the point.

YSU returns to action tomorrow when it plays at Bradley. First serve is set for Noon.
