In the top of the third inning, Castiglione's two-out bases-loaded double off the top of the center field wall cleared the bases to score Kelly Stowe, Ewing and Snodgrass, who all singled, and put the Penguins up 4-3.
The Flames knotted the game at 4-4 with a two-out single in the bottom of the sixth.
Snodgrass, Ewing and Stowe each had two hits for the Penguins, who totaled 11 in game two.
In the opener, senior Vicky Rumph hit a solo home run as the Penguins tallied just two hits in the 5-1 loss.
