Seven-Run Seventh Leads Softball to Split at Eastern Michigan
Ypsilanti, Mich. -- The Youngstown State softball team tallied 15 hits and used a seven-run seventh inning en route to a 13-3 victory to salvage a doubleheader split against Eastern Michigan on Tuesday.

The Penguins improve to 10-17 on the season while the Eagles move to 11-26-1.

In game two, junior Samantha Snodgrass went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, including a three-run double in the seven-run seventh inning. Senior Vicky Rumph went 3-for-4 while seniors Caroline Krombach and Sarah Gabel and freshman Molly Manietta each had two hits.

Junior Sarah Ingalls belted a two-run home run to tie the game at 3-3 in the top of the fourth after the Penguins trailed 3-1 after three innings. The Penguins also scored two runs in the fifth and another in the sixth.

Junior Casey Crozier picked up her ninth win of the season allowing just five hits and striking out three in six innings.

In the opener, Snodgrass collected three hits and senior Vicky Rumph recorded her 20th career home run in the 5-3 loss.

The Penguins host Horizon League foe Loyola, April 18-19, at McCune Park. First pitch on Thursday and Friday is slated for 3 p.m.
