Crozier, who improves to 8-5, allowed just one base runner over the last four innings and retired 13 of the last 14 batters she faced.
The Penguins (9-16 overall, 4-5 Horizon League) scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the first inning on a two-out, two-run single by junior Sarah Ingalls. Ingalls single to left-center field plated junior Samantha Snodgrass, who walked, and senior Vicky RUmph, who reached on a fielder's choice.
Senior Caroline Krombach led off the frame with a double, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt, but was thrown out at home on Rumph's grounder to shortstop. Freshman Kelly Stowe reached on an error to load the bases and set up Ingalls' clutch hit.
After giving up a two-out solo home run and walk in the top of the third, Crozier retired nine straight Cleveland State (12-18 overall, 3-3 Horizon League) batters.
Ingalls and senior Sarah Gabel each had two hits for the Penguins.
The Penguins visit Eastern Michigan in a non-league doubleheader, Tuesday, April 16, at 3 p.m.
