Casey Crozier's Career-High Nine Strikeouts Leads Softball to Split
Kissimmee, Fla. -- Junior Casey Crozier struck out a career-high nine and led the Youngstown State softball team to a 10-2 over Wagner on Wednesday morning. The Penguins lost their second game, 6-5, to Saint Peter's (N.J.).

The Penguins improve to 2-10 overall after the split on day two of the Rebel Games.

Crozier, who picked up her second win of the season, surrendered just five hits to go along with her career best in strikeouts.

The Penguins, who had just six hits, walked 10 times to aid the offense. Senior Vicky Rumph had a run-scoring single in the first and an RBI-double in the sixth to lead the Penguins offensively.

Junior Sarah Ingalls also drove in a run with a single up the middle in the third inning.

Against Saint Peter's, the Penguins jumped out to a 3-1 lead after a three-run third inning. Freshman Kelly Stowe hit a two-run double and Brooke Meenachan walked to plate Rumph.

The Peacocks answered with three runs in the bottom of the third to take a 4-3 lead.

The Penguins tied the game at 5-5 with after run-scoring triple by senior Sarah Gabel in the fifth and Rumph's RBI-single in the sixth.

The Peacocks though scored an unearned run in the bottom of sixth to steal the victory.

The Penguins close out the Rebel Games against Fairleigh Dickinson and Army, Thursday, at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m, respectively.
