Darius Patton
« on: March 18, 2012, 07:16:53 AM »
Read in the Post Gazette this a.m. that Darius Patton has left the Univ. of Pitt football team for personal reasons.  Anybody hearing any rumors?  They are running a pro-style offense at Pitt now... probably doesn't fit his type of game as well as what Fraud Graham was trying to run :)  You think there is any chance he follows in dad's footsteps and transfers to YSU?

I also seen Liberty Leopard product Isiah Bell is leaving Michigan, have not heard anything on his plans, however.

Don't want him. He's a good athlete yes, but has a big attitude problem. We have enough WR's anyway

In All It's Glory..... >:( >:( :o :-\

Great Y-Town Athletes (football).....should go to Mooney. To play against the best, every week. For 4 years.

How many "great " ITCL"/ALL-American Red/White/Blue?......washouts......have there been at the D1-AA/1A Level?

Fitz from Liberty is the last chance. And if hewould have went to Mooney....he would have had 3 State Title rings!

And he, like the "other washouts" would have been better prepared to play against big time competition.

Just obvious observations....not Hatin' here.....

Pizza, you're an idiot.  Tell that to Bradly Fletcher and all the other D-1 products Liberty has put out in football and basketball the past 25 years.  I remember about 10 or so years ago Mooney couldn't even win a game.  Your attitude is what's wrong with H/S Sports...come here and win Championships...take a kid to a Girard game and then take them to a Mooney game at YSU...it's like comparing a "usual" YSU Basketball game to a Duke game.  I think most kids would rather play infront of almost a whole town than a bunch of empty seats and cement steps, once again, you're an idiot.

OK.....A point well taken.... :)

I'd applaud you....but my "hands"...and those of of my children.....would challenge you more on this keyboard forum........if they weren't weighed down with 8 State Title Rings......

But we both must lift our many "State Title Rings".... to type....those thoughts.

We will "together.....as father and son..... "proudly".....for the rest, of our lives.......enjoy the "sacrifices" we made for one another. He gave up the partying for 3-4 years.....and I didn't buy a "new" car for 3 years...

An investment by us both BOTH.......well worth it.

The problem with Youngstown sports culture is that tribal attitudes formed in the high schools last for a lifetime.  Enough already.  Is it too much to ask that you refrain from such tribal in-fighting on a college board?

Pizza, stop with this Mooney glorification and stop bashing other high schools.  And as a Mooney graduate, I have a perfect right to tell you that.  You belittle our alma mater with such childish behavior.  Successful people and successful institutions have no need whatsoever to brag about themselves.

We must also applaud the way the adults at that southside school and by adults I mean both parents and staff
showed their student athletes how to conduct themselves after winning their last championship. Cigars and champagne anyone?
