More change coming for the Colonial -with Villanova's potential move to the Big East still a possibility?

Delaware
Georgia State (joins CAA play in 2012)
James Madison
Maine
UMass (leaving for MAC in 2012)
New Hampshire
Old Dominion (joins CAA play in 2011)
Richmond
Rhode Island (Leaving the CAA for the Northeast Conference in 2013)
Towson
Villanova
William & Mary

We all know I hate the YSU get out of the Gateway discussions but YSU might be attractive to the Colonial if they continue to lose football members.

IAA Fan:
Just like Buffalo. The MAC sees a change to get facilities. UMASS will give them Gillette Stadium, and access to the Boston media market.

Wick250:
It is absolutely imperative that we return to prominence as quickly as possible, so we can operate from a position of strength as we weigh our options.  If Villanova follows U-Mass into FBS status, the CAA will be desperate to retain their nearly automatic four bids into the playoffs.  Schools like Liberty, Stony Brook, and Albany covet CAA membership, but they would do nothing for the prestige of that league.  But a restored YSU program would be irresistable.

Five years ago, I would have been opposed to leaving a midwestern league for one anchored on the east coast.  But the addition of three schools from the Dakotas changes everything.  A conference focused in Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia now makes a lot of sense for us.  Especially with the CAA stature and massive media exposure compared to the MVFC.

IAA Fan:
Yes Wick ...we need to have enough clout to have Mickey Matthews removed prior to joining any conference that he coaches in.   fb

YsuPride:
It would be a great move to get into the CAA if we get the chance.  Doesn't UMASS avg. way less in attendance than YSU?  Seems like the MAC is getting desperate.
