Both teams are 2-4.

YSU is a 9.5 point favorite

Impressive with the seating and much more modern it makes everything look

Down 36-30 at the half. Neither team is shooting the ball very well. YSU is getting killed on the boards 29-14.

Pretty good crowd on Thanksgiving Eve with students on break. Not a whole lot to cheer about. There's no reason YSU should get beat by this team at home

They deserved the win, beat us in all aspects of the game. Rebounds, shooting, 3 point and ft. Oh yea at our house to boot.

I realize that those of you that love basketball enjoyed the past two seasons and desperately hoped that Faulkner would maintain the program. The reality is that this is a second division Horizon League team with a talent level that reflects that standing. Faulkner's acquisitions in the portal are not impressive. I would venture to state that Calhoun would have brought none of these guys to our campus. So speaking on behalf of YSU football fans, welcome to our world: a world of substandard talent and substandard coaching.

With all those new seats I expected us to be better.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but today was a reflection of all YSU's issues we've seen thus far.  I was hoping today would be a "get right" game before Bethany Saturday. Playing a team that's not very good, first home game, and the day before a holiday. I expected more energy, and there were some spurts, and honestly thought the way YSU came out in the second half and once they got the lead was going to win this game especially when they took the lead by 1.

Reality came back into play the last 5 minutes and all of the issues we've seen this year reared its ugly head after the game was tied at 60.  Couldn't score a basket the last the last 5 minutes, couldn't make FT when they were needed,  couldn't rebound, and couldn't knock down good looks at 3 that would have changed the game.  Outscored 13-2.

Outrebounded 49-30 (now -7.3 for the year). Shot our season average 36% from the field.  11-19 from the FT line dropping us to 65% for the year.  5-27 from 3 dropping us to under 24%. Have to be one of the worst shooting teams from 3 in the nation. Siem is 1-13 for the year, EJ is 4-31.  Brutal, brutal, brutal.

About the only positives today was Maxey and Farmer.  Gabe couldn't stay out of foul trouble again today, had 4 and picked up a quick one to start both the 1st and 2nd half.

This team needs a leader(s) and guys to play with some heart and effort.  I didn't even see guys getting frustrated and pissed like in years past, almost like the play is becoming expected.  There's major size issues.  Scoreless droughts in every game are becoming common & killing any chance of winning.  Honestly this team takes me back to a team from the Slocum era.  7 games in and have only beaten 2 winless teams and didn't play great in those games either.  Watching some of the other Horizon League teams, I'm fearful if we're going to be able to compete and may be a long season.

I don’t think we really need to over analyze the team/ game. The players are just simply not good/consistent enough. They fail in all aspect of the game… shooting, rebounding, layups, FT shooting, setting screens, attacking the basket, playing as a team….
The talent is just not there. Therefore, it is difficult to tell about the coaching…unfortunately, I think this team will following the same path as our football team.
I guess I should start following the track and field team and the bowling team if I want to watch winning programs.

That was the post I would have made.  Right now I want only Maxey shooting 3s.   This team needs to run their offense with the mentality that all shots need to be 17 ft in.   Farmer has a great mid-range game and needs to stay with it.   Really got muscled and out tough by WMU.  That has to change.

No contributions from Harper or Siem Uijtendaal.  Killed on the glass and 18% from 3 in your home gym is pathetic.  YSU kicked their butt last season on the road because we were the tougher team. Not sure if there is an answer if you got a group of guys that like to shoot 3s and may have no business shooting them.  also, there is no one that can post and score.  Dynes offense is mostly getting lobs and Nico is strong but only 6-6.  Need another physical presence in the post but not one on this roster.

Two back to back 20 + seasons and now we have a program that could be sub 500% unless some of the new guys  start showing something but based of the early returns i'm not optimistic.

All in a wrap we just stink. Wait to Toledo comes in.  We will probably finish near the bottom of the league this year.  Less than 8 or 10 wins is hard to swallow after Calhoun.  I was in attendance and we simply have no clue offensively.  Plus no excitement either.  Whereas Calhoun has Utah St undefeated so far.  I don't think we will understand or appreciate the job Calhoun did here and he took a few assistants with him as well.  We have no inside game what so ever.  No size.  Why?
