Last two games

Well.. 5-7 is a possibility but still a very disappointing season. Hopefully the staff is recognizing the issues and will actively pursue ways to remedy the situation at each position. These games that don’t mean much will tell a lot about the staff, the players and the overall program. Will they cash it in?  Will they play hard?  Will the staff have them prepared or are they just going through the motions?  SIU is down to their graduate assistant who quit football to coach playing QB…if we don’t win this one the I think some changes definitely need to be made.

It might be significant that in this "Wild West" era of college football, Southern Illinois and Northern Iowa collapsed right along with us. I wonder if their problems were just injuries, or if lack of NIL money, poor retention of players, and bad use of the portal contributed to their failure. We should finish 4-4 in the league. If we don't, and the team duplicates a Wolford November, then Phillips will lose whatever credibility he might have left.
