Our DC just does not know how to contain the running QB.
ISU was able to make adjustments on our QB.

Another penalty on a critical down.

Phillips has a staff that has no business coaching at this level.  He has nothing but GA assistants from other programs that are failing miserably.

YSU looked like world beaters the 1st half and not so much the 2nd.  One team made adjustments at half the other did not.  Maybe we should play Houston Christian in the Sycamore bowl.

Last win of year.   2nd Phillips was out coached badly in 2nd half.   We got lucky we won.  Enjoy this because I will. We will be 2-10.  Watch

The first half gave us the illusion that we might win 2 or 3 more games this season. Then the second half restored the sense of reality.

The general comments about the deficiencies of our coaches are valid. Allow me to present three specific examples of incompetence.

First, on Indiana States first touchdown, the pass to the running back down the sideline. He was being chase by #42, our defensive end. Perhaps #42 recognized broken coverage and was just trying his best. But I suspect that our DC actually schemed in this situation for our defensive end to cover a running back. Madness.

Second, although we finally got pressure on a quarterback, in the second half we were rushing wildly with little regard to the integrity of the lanes. That enabled their oline to brush our edge rushers toward the outside and opened up gaps that their running quarterback used for 10, 20, and 30 yard gains. Keep a running quarterback in the stinkin' pocket. Inexcusable.

Third, the single blunder that almost cost us the game. Around seven minutes left and we near their 20 yard line. We run outside on second and long which places the ball on the right hash mark. On third down we throw an incomplete pass into the end zone which keeps the ball on the right hash mark. Predictably, our field goal kicker then hits the right upright. Tressel or any other competent coach would have made sure that in that situation the ball would be resting in the middle of the field for fourth down. Stupidity.

We have an unqualified head coach so we are kidding ourselves to think the assistant coaches would be any different.

As I posted before, BB is not capable of taking us forward since he can’t read the receivers in the RPO.
He always looked to run first and therefore, was late in reading the receivers or late in throwing the ball.
His long passes to the side line were always late until the db caught up with the receivers. For example,
In the 4th quarter, he had Max T. Wide open running to the end zone all by himself. He was late looking for him until he was covered.
Again, once the defense put 8 in the box and put a player to shadow him to take away his run, our O died. That was the story of our second half.
