Decent win, but it shouldn't have been as close as it was. 

YSU missed a lot of open looks in the first half and settled for too many 3's and really should have had big lead early on.  They let Utah Tech hang around.  YSU had an opportunity to stretch out the lead up 10 and the ball in the 2nd half, but let UT go on a run.  UT got it down to 1 and had the ball until YSU's run pretty much kept it between 5-8 points late in the game.

DJ Burns was impressive with his 3rd double-double in 4 games.  Was good to see Jaylen Bates have a really good game off the bench.  Those 2 were the difference in the game.  Both hit some clutch 3's and FT.

Overall still need to shoot the ball better. Rush just 1-7 from 3.

A win is a win but they still need to improve, had like 3 10 point leads that we allowed to disappear. A work in progress but the pieces may be there.

5.5 favorites, won by 7. Solid D1 win. Some other horizon teams looking solid makes me worry. We will have our work cut out with Dayton. They beat LSU & St John and played close with northwestern. Hope we can keep it close.

Team is a work in progress.   What scares me is our conference seems to be strong on the top of the conference.   Every team has improved over last year by far.   Be nice to get 17 wins out of this team this year.   We shall see. Bobby Hain is an assistant while they have a ysu transfer on the roster as well on Lake Erie.  Plus Kid from Struthers.

Nice to see Byrnes and langdon playing well.  Langdon has been consistent and he doesn't turn it over .  He has an inate ability to create space to get his shot off.

props to Jaylen Bates and would like to see him build of this performance.
B Rush is very gifted but he needs to know what is a good or not good shot .  Perhaps move in a foot or two on his shots and go strong to the basket instead of finessing it.

Defense has a bad tendency to leave their feet on pump fakes.  need to stay planted.

Credit the team for playing hard and hopefully level up.
