If you built an on campus facility, you could still play a few games a year at Eastwood field, if high profile opponents demanded that.  As Chief pointed out early in this thread, the biggest problem is the commute hassle that our players face for practice.  A nearly one hour, round trip, journey is hardly attractive.  Has to be a terrible recruiting disadvantage when we go up against schools that have their own turf field (Kent and Wright State and probably some others.)

All sports need to be on campus, but baseball is more than a field. So until we can afford to do it properly, Niles offers the park. Heck YSU was dropping baseball just a couple of years ago. Look at Kent, selling their golf course.
