Injuries are too much, not enough depth:

5 wins
No
I would take him back but not sure how long he lasts

Boy, I hope you are wrong.  Obviously my 8 wins is pretty optimistic, assuming a WVU loss and playing NDSU up there, but I hope your 5 is too pessimistic.  However, injuries and depth are legitimate concerns.  College football is always a crap shoot with graduations.  Reed looks like a HUGE loss, but Cook is our highest rated recruit in several years and maybe he is the next "Derek Rivers", who knows?  WE don't know, but we'll all find out together!

Here is on poll that is pretty typical of what I'm seeing:
Athlon Sports FCS Preseason Top 25 Poll
1.    North Dakota State
2.    James Madison
3.    New Hampshire
4.    South Dakota State
5.    Kennesaw State
6.    Eastern Washington
7.    Sam Houston State
8.    Jacksonville State
9.    Weber State
10.    Elon
11.    Villanova
12.    Samford
13.    Delaware
14.    Illinois State
15.    Nicholls
16.    Wofford
17.    McNeese
18.    Montana
19.    UNI
20.    North Carolina A&T
21.    Youngstown State
22.    Austin Peay
23.    Sacramento State
24.    Central Arkansas
25.    Stony Brook

These polls are bullsh**.  We are better than most of the teams.  This is a political way of being fair.  We would beat half the watered down playoff field with injures.

Last year, we lost some very tight games, one in OT. Then we were blown out by Ill St. We will probably have some very tight games in 2018 and a turnover could change a win into a loss. We must improve greatly in the turnover margin. This is an extremely tough conference!!
 l will go for:

7 wins    (I hope for 8)
Maybe
Yes

7 wins, maybe 8.

Although still the best FCS conference by a wide margin, the MVFC might not be quite as dominant this year.  9 out of the 10 teams have at least some issues:

Missouri State and Indiana State stink.
Southern Illinois plays little defense.
Western Illinois has a dangerous offense but is not particularly strong on defense.
South Dakota will return to the second division unless they have found a clone for their departed qb.
South Dakota State lost their pro caliber TE and WR that carried them for four seasons.
UNI is no longer a national power, except one day every two years when they play us inside their gym.
Illinois State massacred us last year but were mediocre overall.

As far as Pelini, he rebuilt our nonexistent defense and took us to the title game.  The team GPA is the highest in program history.  He stays as long as he wants.

7 wins, yes, yes (if Pelini could not coach us back into a playoff team each year, no other coach in the $300k salary range would).
If he could get 7 win and a deep run in the playoff, he wiould go else where as a head coach. If he could not make a deep run in the playoff, he would go else as DC. Either way, I think he will be gone next year.
Who knows, Tressel might talk him into staying.

6-5, no playoffs.  Way to much expected from a QB who sat for four years.   VanGorder was not an FBS recruit, went to ND with father who was defensive coordinator.  He wanted to be part of the experience.

Inexperience at wide receiver, and other than Bryce Gibson, three question marks in the secondary.  Pelini a great defensive coordinator, one of the best.  But overrated as a head coach.
