Westminster PG Cameron-Kane Johnson is transferring up to YSU. He dropped 30 points on us this year. Coaches took notice and offered him a chance to move up.

That's a huge step up.

It's interesting that Cameron wants to go from the leading scorer on a successful d3 program to YSU where pg position is very crowded.

Santiago if healthy has a few years of D1 ball and will play.
Devin Morgan also has 2 years of D1 and will probably start in the back court.
Darius Quisenberry was arguably the top point guard in Ohio and he should see quality back up minutes.
Antiba Taylor is another point guard who can play the point or off guard and will see the floor a lot.

Glad to see Mr Johnson at YSU and if he gets minutes then we will know that he earned them through hard work .  I hope he has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove everyone that he is a legit D1 guard that just needed a shot.

I don't believe Santiago will be back. Just a hunch.

Or if back, will he be like Nickki Arbanas, and only be a shadow of his former self?  She did what I believe is best for her, give up BB and concentrate on school, and while that has nothing to do with Francisco's injury situation, I do hope he makes the choice that is best for him also.

Alex Holcombe, 6-8 F from Panola JC has committed. Big body. Good around the rim. Played a year at Texas A&M Corus Christi also.

From watching his video he did look like an old school back to the basket/banger type.   Not flashy but seems to have a decent reach(long arms ?) .  Only averaged 7.6 ppg and 5.6 rebounds at the JC level.  Hopefully will add some depth in the post.  YSU  roster from last season to this coming season is totally renovated .   Does the new look =more W's ?

It's a good move for him.  No sitting out and he probably knew from practice that he would again be a backup to Devin Morgan.  also have two frosh pg on board.   The Slocum era only has one remaining in Francisco Santiago who may or may not be back this season.

I'm positive he was.   He started last year and his sophomore season he was the back up .

I do not think a D1 basketball school (men or women) can split scholarships, so I think he had a full scholarship.

Football at FCS and most if not all other sports can split scholarships to a certain degree.  I think in football the 63 scholarships can be split among 85 players to reach the FBS level.  In FBS I don't think they can split football scholarships, all are full scholarships.
