He is a moron for choosing Western Michigan.  He will never play for anything meaningful and the boat rower left.

Yes Ice. However, it is FBS and I am sure that our post-season success did not go unrecognized and kids want IA/FBS. I noticed that his in-state rank jumped very quickly from 188 to 61 over the post-season ...that probably brought him on to "the radar" a bit more.

Anyone know who the lineman was that committed last night
Zachary Hauschild 6"6 325 lineman Clearwater, FL http://www.hudl.com/video/3/2973832/5844c438c124dd1318bc6cf7
I think he is big enough.  Boy, it's hard to tell watching these hudl tapes.  You don't know the level of competition nad this kid plays on a bad line, so really hard to judge.

Terray Bryant, 5-11, 205 pound LB from Lithonia, GA was on campus last weekend on his visit and received an offer today from us. Will see if he commits in the next two days.

Ice,
You think we have too many safeties?   This kid is a safety not a LB, and you always need special teams guys.

I watched his tape. He played a lot of LB. He's too small for LB at the FCS level. I'm not sure he's fast enough to play safety. We could use more safety's not Linebackers

5'11" is OK for HS LB, but not MVFC.  Kid played a ton of safety too.  Strong safety much more read and react than speed, plus his speed looks fine for level of HS competition.  Problem is, we aren't sure what that is. Nice to watch Hudl videos of OH kids, because we know the schools and the level of the opposition.
Besides nobody has too many LB's.  You need 5 or 6 to play plus as many as you can find for kick teams.

I wasn't concerned about the 5'11. It was his weight. At strong safety he still needs to be fast and he's not. I'm ok with the number of LB's we have now to cover kicks and play D. We need big D-Lineman

Don't care about height. He runs decent and if he can pack on a couple more pounds, he will be solid. He has a real nose for the ball.

Just another note: A couple walk on's from the area who will join the program:

Yanni Koullias- RB from Campbell

Donovan Turney- DT from Boardman

Noah Bayus- WR from Champion

They go along with Darrell Jackson from Mooney and Jake Cummings from Canfield as walk-ons in the program. Always good to have local kids in the program. Whether they see the field or not.

Bryant is kinda in the mold of the Wright kid.  Looks like he ran a 4.7  and has a nose for the ball.  Projected as a weak side linebacker.  Before his Senior year he needed to get better at pass coverage.
A Penguin for life!!!
